Proton BLM Facebook Ads is from Paultan.org. Not from Proton.

Remember when I talked about Proton advertised their new car, Proton BLM on Facebook?
Actually, it’s not Proton. It’s from Paultan.org. That means, LiewCF is not the only blogger uses Facebook as another marketing platform to get more visitors.
I stumbled upon the ads last week and managed to get a screenshot.
How to make money with Facebook?
If you’re a programmer, you can create Facebook Apps. Later on, you can monetize it using Appsaholics, Cubics, Adbrite and Adsense. Actually, there’s another advertising network that really suits in Facebook. I’ll cover about that later on.
But how if you’ve got no talent on coding? Simply don’t know programming in PHP, Ruby on Rails, Java and ASP? How to monetize it?
Mashable has a great review on the 9 Facebook applications to make you money.
Go have a read and get some idea. Who knows, you profile might get more than a thousand views per day. (Especially you’re a girl and posted some sexy pics).

American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) and CAPTCHA Issue
Caitlin McFeely from AFB Communications wrote in AFB’s blog. CAPTCHA is giving the blind / visually impaired a problem to access the site.
But, what’s more interesting, a Facebook staff, Jeff, taken initiative to resolve this issue.
Quote:
Michelle decided to take action and bring this and other problems to the Facebook staff. Last week, Michelle and I had the pleasure of discussing the inaccessible features of the site with Jeff, a Facebook employee that works on accessibility issues. Jeff was really responsive to our concerns and promised that his team would work hard to tackle these issues. He even hopes to set up a project timeline to keep track of the concerns and progress made.
I’m pretty much happy that Facebook concern about this kind of thing. Keep us updated Caitlin.
fbFund Decision Email from Facebook (Rejection Email)
At last, they did reply me on the fbFund status since it’s released.
Thank you for submitting an fbFund application. We’re seeing a tremendous response to fbFund, and have already reviewed many strong proposals. Your proposals and the response from the developer community have also helped us refine the focus for fbFund. While this direction will no doubt change from time to time, your proposal unfortunately did not fit within our current focus for this immediate set of grantees.
This doesn’t mean that we don’t believe in your application nor that it can’t be successful. As your application evolves, we encourage you to reapply for a grant – there is no limit on how many times you can apply for a grant, and each funding cycle represents a new opportunity to receive a grant.
For more information on fbFund and the funding process, as well as more information about what we look for in a proposal, please see http://developers.facebook.com
/fbFund.php .
We wish you the best of luck as you build your business, and hope to hear from you again in the future.
Cheers,
The fbFund team
For your information, I did applied for the fbFund last year. But ever since, no news from Facebook at all.
From a lot of bloggers response, I didn’t see anybody being accepted. A lot of bloggers cover the stories about being got rejected. It includes in a Facebook Developer Discussion Board.
I quoted some:
Frankly, it’s been so long since we applied for Facebook fund that the email today made me dig through my Sent folder in search of fbFund definition. So we have been rejected for fbFund. If you are thinking “what the heck is fbFund?” it was the grant offered by Facebook back in September via some tech blog (ReadWriteWeb, mashable or similar). The idea was to provide incentives for developers and companies to start developing FB applications. The grant promised anywhere between 20K to 250K per application for a total of $10 in “free money”. The only requirement was to send an email to platform@facebook.com and provide a compelling reason why they should give you the money.
Well three months later we got an email telling us that all our applications will be wiped out and that if we seriously considered applying for the grant we would need to re-apply using the new application form designed by FB and Accel partners. This apparently happened to all applicants, not just us.
Even the fbFund team also responded:
I’m sorry that this process has been so unfriendly this round. Like everything else at Facebook, the fbFund grant program is an iterative process, and we’re working hard to make it better. I’m particularly sorry about the delay on this initial round — since it was the first round of funding, we wanted to make sure that every proposal got the consideration it deserved. We’re constantly fine-tuning the process to make it better, and I think you’ll see improvements as we learn what works.
For more information on how the process works and what we’re looking for, please check out http://developers.facebook.com/fbFund.php .
We value our developers immensely, and are trying to figure out how to efficiently scale out a program that will support them. If you have specific feedback, we’d love to hear it at fbFund@facebook.com.
thanks,
Ami Vora
the fbFund team

LiewCF Advertises LiewCF.com via Facebook Ads
The acclaimed Malaysia’s first full time blogger, LiewCF posted a Facebook Ads framing his own picture. I managed to get a print-scree (see the screenshot). Similar to Google Adsense, you can advertise almost anything (such as your products, websites or even Facebook Apps) using Facebook Ads.
I wrote a review before, and what I can conclude is that Facebook Ads is pretty much targeted rather than any other advertising platform.
Facebook: Your account is temporarily unavailable due to site maintenance.

I hope that this is just a normal site maintenance. Oh, Facebook, don’t disable my account like Robert Scoble. (Luckily he managed to reinstate it back!) Anyone having this kind of error message?
Facebook Apps: No more Add Application. Choose Add to Profile or Add to Page

See the screenshot. It used to be only one button to add any application. Now, they make it two. Plus, you can immediately become a fan of that application. Nicely implemented. Bravo, Facebook!
6-years-old to use Facebook-like application from BBC
This is a privacy concern. They’re just too young for this social networking sites. And a lot of people has express their anger.
An excerpt:
The BBC is setting up a Facebook-style social networking site for children as young as six.
The MyCBBC service is aimed at those who are too young for Facebook and other commercial rivals such as MySpace and Bebo.
These sites have a lower age limit of 13, but the BBC’s site will target six to 12-year-olds.
Ouch!
Cubics.com - Server is too busy. Appsaholic OK.
I just wanted to register as a Publisher in Cubics. Too bad, there’s nothing I can get except “Server is too busy”.
Cubics need to upgrade their bandwidth and server.
Compare to Appsaholic, they’re much more stable.
Famous People: Lim Kit Siang on Facebook
Who don’t recognize the DAP leader Lim Kit Siang? He’s now on Facebook. Go check his profile and become his friend. Ah, I’m not a politician and not an opposition. But amazed how Facebook managed to lure big names and famous celebrities into it.
Oh, government. Please don’t put me into ISA. I promise not to talk anything bad. I’ll talk sweet everytime. Let me alone with my own world.
Who else do you know (celebs, singers, artists, politicians) , now in Facebook?
