I bought a new Linksys WAG200G Wireless Modem Router for Streamyx at Digital Mall

Linksys_wag200g_modem_router_wireless_streamyx

It costs me RM200. My WRT54G v5.0 is old enough and needs replacement, after reverting several times using official Linksys and dd-wrt firmware.

It’s been in my wishlist earlier.

WAG200G – Linksys Wireless-G ADSL Home Gateway

Linksys-wag200g

This is an ADSL2+ Modem, Internet-sharing Router, 4-Port Switch and Wireless-G Access Point in one box.

Yes, that means I don’t have to use separate Aztech modem for Streamyx dialing and WRT54G v5 for the routing purposes.

I’m still thinking should I consider upgrading to WAG200G from my old WRT54G v5 which having a firmware problem lately?

I will rather play look-and-see first. As for the last firmware upgrade to 1.02.5, it’s shows a stability which is good for me.

I’ll keep on monitoring this.

Revert Back from DD-WRT to Linksys Official Firmware for WRT54G v5.0 Router

Linksys-wrt54g

I’ve been using 3rd party firmware, dd-wrt for my Cisco’s Linksys WRT54G v5.0 around a year. Somehow, it gave me a lot of disconnection and instability. The latest dd-wrt firmware that I used is dd-wrt.v23_sp2_standard.

I made a decision to revert to the original / official firmware version 1.02.5 from Linksys.

Below is the details.

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Bootcamp

Remember that I passed the exam on 20/8/07? Yeah, it was easy, I guess. It may because of the CCNA bootcamp class that I attended at Redynamics.

I can say that I’m quite familiar with all these Cisco stuff. But in theory, that’s what I’m lacking off.

To those who want to pursue in the networking field, CCNA bootcamp is worth a try.

Below is the testimonial requested by Redynamics to those who passed the exam.

BOOT CAMP SURVIVOR TESTIMONIAL

Congratulations on your recent achievement. We truly believe that achieving certification is a tough job and hard work and skilled knowledge got you through.

In our continuing quest to improve, we would like your general feedback on any area you enjoyed or disagreed with the recent Boot Camp experience. We value any comments you have to make.

Thank You

Now, I have feedback to them.

Passed CCNA Exam, 910/1000

Cisco CCNA exam

Yesterday, I was so nervous, preparing for the CCNA exam. At last, I passed the CCNA exam. The result, 910/1000. Not so great, as the passing mark is only 849/1000.

My friend, Nithia who took the exam together with me passed it with 1000/1000. That was a great achievement. It shows that she has a great understanding about network fundamentally and Cisco products.

It’s no surprise then, as she always score high during our CCNA bootcamp class and revision, handled by Raymond Chou.

Now, I will aim for CCNP. Nithia will be undergo a free CCNP course at Redynamics. Raymond has promised to offer a free CCNP class (worth RM12,000++) to those who passed the 640-801 CCNA exam with 1000/1000.

Thanks to Raymond Chou for the CCNA bootcamp class.

Thanks to Nithia for our last revision at her office at Kelana Jaya.

I will talk later about how bootcamp will help you to understand more about Cisco certifications. It’s not compulsory, but it will greatly help you during the exam.

CCNA, 640-801 Exam at Redynamics, Phileo Damansara

CCNA, 640-801 Exam at Redynamics, Phileo DamansaraI’m going to take a CCNA exam tomorrow (20/8/07) at Redynamics Asia, Phileo Damansara. I wish that I can pass with flying colors.

My manager has been pushing me to pass this CCNA exam, or else, this year’s performance will be affected. Gosh!

I was quite handy with Cisco’s stuff, especially when doing installation and configuration at customer’s place. But to be in the real exam, that was kinda nervous.

Here’s my study materials;

1. Pass4Sure, Version 2.83

2. Testinside, Version 11

3. Testinside.blogspot.com

4. Sadikhov.com CCNA Forum

Wish me luck! I will update my score later.
