    thanks for the info here, very useful. u seem to know ur stuff :) so, i have a couple questions…

    i downloaded the latest version:
    Package Version: 4.6.0.373
    Consisting of:
    * Applications: 4.6.0.221
    * Software Platform: 4.0.0.186
    the upgrade happened as you described it and was successful… and yet, when i check the about screen in the status section of the options, it still says software platform v4.6.0.162. is that normal?

    my other question is… can u confirm whether it’s possible to get wifi WITHOUT having a data package? so far, it finds all wireless networks but keeps on giving me a “can’t generate IP address” error message. Is this a restriction that RIM has placed? or individual carriers (I’m with rogers)?
